Apparently I Have Been Featured

Hey All.

I have been meaning to post about my sulfur mix, but as soon as I get new batteries, and find the cord for my camera, I will be able to get pictures.

This post however is about something different. I was minding my business on Facebook, and you know how you get notifications right? Well a friend of mine posted a video on my wall, so I am thinking it is something funny, but apparently someone on Youtube made a video for Hairstyles for Natural Haired Brides, and my picture found it's way in there. (Lol)

I did not get permission so I am not sure how I feel about it, but I must admit I am a touch flattered that they felt my style was appropriate enough to be featured.

The other styles are quite pretty, but if you are not interested in all of that, my picture pops up at the 2:05 mark. Creative Wedding Styles

I wanted to post the video in this post but for some reason it is not letting me.

Again, it is a little flattering but a touch invasive, but unless you watermark your pictures, they can be easy to take and be used to a persons liking. So be careful!

Natural Bride

 Hey All!

Remember I mentioned wedding hair..well believe me, it didn't come out how I planned!

I had my heart set on doing a rod set using my perm rods, but everyone insisted I get my hair professionally done. I played with the idea of not only getting it done, but perhaps straightening it!

I finally decided to go with it after I got my nails done, and everyone told me I should not do my hair because I might mess up my nails. To the powers that be, the salon I intended to visit day of did not come through, their stylist was not there! So within 30 minutes of hopping in the limo to the ceremony, I had to do I quick style, I did have help from my Mother, and Mother-In-Law, though. I blew out my hair to get rid of some shrinkage, and did a side sweep pin up. My hair did not come out how I wanted, but I still had a blast!

Oh and I would like to add that my make up was done by Mrs. Ashely Callaway! My day wouldn't have been as special without her, she does freelance, so if you are interested in her work shoot her a message at

Wedding Hair

Hey All!

Wedding hair comes to mind, because I myself will be walking down the aisle on the 27th of this month!

Even talking about it gets me nervous!


I have been going through a big debate...in my mind, about how I will be wearing my hair. Whether I will wear what is to be considered a "natural" style, or straigtened? Weave or no weave? Done myself or professionally?

Those are the main questions that have been floating around my mind, and I still have not decided. I have narrowed it down though, Fiance delibritly asked that I do not get braids. He is not a big fan of weave, he always complains when I braid or twists my hair with extensions. So I will not be doing that, although it is the most conveinient of styles, as I can get it done a week prior to the wedding, and not have to stress about wetting my hair or ruining my style.

As of now, I am leaning more towards doing a rod set, which is one of my absolute favorite styles. Although honestly, I cannot see myself paying someone to do. At least not what these Natural Salons (salons that cater to those with natural hair) charge. But we will see, I may want to spoil myself and go for it anyway.


A part of me wants to keep whatever style I do a "natural style", so I feel that I am giving my fiance a honest version of myself. Hope that makes sense (lol). Another reason is that there is beautiful natural styles now of days, now that natural hair is becoming more the norm.

A thought that has also been floating around, is geting a "Domincan Blow Out", at a Domincan Salon. They use magnetic rollers to stretch the hair, and then straighten your hair with a round brush, along with a professional dryer with a nozzle attachment. The direct the heat to our roots, and then along the length of your hair.

It leaves your hair extremely straight, without the use of a relaxer, but the only issue that lies is that it requires a lot of heat. Although it would heed to my need of wanting to see my length. Stretching strands is not doing it for me!

So as you all can see, I am torn! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
