Today is the Day!

(Hey All!)

...I'm taking out my Yarn Braids. I am actually in the process right now. I cannot express to you all how happy I am to see and feel my own hair, dirty and all! I love the lock of locs, but I am no means ready for the commitment it takes to growing and upkeep!

Keeping the braids in was easy the first 6 weeks, but these past two weeks have been tough! Usually by the 6 week point, I give in, and take them out, but I pushed past, and stuck it out for the extra 2 weeks, and I'm quite proud of myself.

Although, I am kind of regretting having to take them out, because I have huge dirt clumps in my hair from build up (from buildup, which is completely normal, but gross) .

I will not be using any products to help take them out, as it is yarn and is already soft and easy on the fingers. (No cuts on fingertips, unlike synthetic hair!) I am hoping to finish late tonight/early morning, but we'll see. I am in no rush.

After removing I'll be washing my hair, doing a moisturizing dc, and protein, (as hair needs both to restore balance) probably for an hour or more each, covered with a plastic back (works just as well as a plastic cap), oiling, moisturize and sealing, and a style of choice ( I have not decided yet).

The products I will be using will be new, so I'll be doing a review on them all at some point.

Anyway, I just had to share my good news! Look out for my next post, I will give you guys an estimated time of how long removal took, and comparison pics, to see if the braids helped me retain growth.
